The Jewish Federation of Omaha Appoints New CEO
February 20, 2015

The Jewish Federation of Omaha has appointed Alan E. Potash as its new chief executive officer. He received the unanimous support of the Federation board.

"We could not be more pleased to welcome Alan Potash as our CEO," said Federation President Jay Noddle. "Omaha is his hometown. He has deep roots in our community and will steward the Federation with integrity and great care. This is an exciting time for us as we embark on new leadership for the Jewish Federation."

Potash, a graduate of Southern Illinois University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has served as interim chief executive officer since September 2014. He has been the executive director of the Community Relations Council (CRC) and regional director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), based in Omaha, since 2006. He will immediately begin working with the ADL on an effective transition plan for the Omaha regional office.

In his role with the ADL, which also uniquely served as the CRC, Potash was charged with safeguarding civil rights and combating anti-Semitism, prejudice, discrimination and bigotry through a regional office that encompassed Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas.

"[Alan] has demonstrated his ability to build community, inspire and motivate leaders, grow philanthropic dollars and steward Jewish values. I have every confidence we have found a consummate professional to lead our organization," added Noddle.
