Dear State Government Affairs Professionals, JCRC Directors, and Other Interested Parties:
House and Senate conferees of the pending energy modernization legislation will be meeting to negotiate a final compromise bill. The Senate version,
S. 2012, includes a provision to establish a new nonprofit energy retrofit program. The provision would authorize $50 million annually, between fiscal years 2017 and 2021, to help make nonprofit buildings more energy efficient. The House version does not include a similar provision.
It is, therefore, extremely important for the conferees to hear from us in strong support of retaining the Senate provision. Click here to review the list of House and Senate conferees. Please contact any Members of your delegation who have been selected conferees. Click here to link to a sample letter for your use.
Thank you for joining us in making this timely outreach. Please also let us know about feedback you receive on this outreach. If you have any questions or to report responses, contact Robert Goldberg, Senior Director, Legislative Affairs, at robert.goldberg@jewishfederations.org.
Best,
William C. Daroff
