Kendal Charitable Funds (Caregiver Grants) 
Promising Innovations program

 

Eligibility: Organizations that are tax-exempt under sections 501(c)(3) are eligible to apply.

 

Deadline: May 22, 2015 (LETTERS OF INTENT due); upon review, selected organizations will be invited to submit full applications by August 10, 2015.

 

Description: Through its Promising Innovations program, Kendal will award grants of up to $25,000 in support of pilot programs that aim to transform the experience of aging. The program supports ideas that can enhance the lives of an aging population through services, research, and/or increased awareness of aging-related issues and opportunities. Priority will be given to projects that have the greatest potential for change and replication, for the greatest number of individuals.

 

Proposals must identify and address the challenges faced by family, friends, and unpaid caregivers of older adults in ways that support and nurture primary caregivers, educate their support systems, and enhance the quality of life of the individuals in their care.

Past grantee: The 2013-2014 Promising Innovations Grant topic was Elder abuse for which Kendal Charitable Funds  awarded a $25,000 grant to Bet Tzedek Legal Services to pilot an elder abuse prevention program within religious communities.
