Direct Services for Survivors of Torture 

 

Eligibility: State and local governments, public and private colleges and universities, public housing authorities, nonprofits and for-profits 

 

Funding Available: $10 million for 30 awards ranging from $150,000 to $500,000 each 

 

Deadline: June 24, 2015

 

Description: The grantees will provide direct services to refugees, asylum seekers, asylees, certain immigrant classes and United States citizens who have been tortured on foreign soil. Applicants must propose a comprehensive approach to address the physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of survivors of torture in a culturally linguistic, competent and collaborative manner. Activities can include occupational and legal services.
