2016 CommunityWINS (Working/Investing in Neighborhood Stabilization) Grant Program

Eligibility: Nonprofits that are nominated by USCM members (USCM members can nominate up to three nonprofits; mayors and nonprofits must submit the online application form together)

Funding Available: Award $1,000,000 to support local non-profit partners to cities of all sizes nationwide in 2016. Six awards available in 2016; two awards per population category:

• Large: Population greater than 250,000 • Medium: Population of 75,000 – 250,000, • Small: Population less than 75,000

Deadline: March 18 (nominations)

Description: The program supports neighborhood revitalization, economic development and job creation in cities across the country. Nominees must address at least one of the following issues:

• Stimulate growth and stability, remove blight and promote rebuilding.
• Encourage business development.
• Aid in local job creation or assist in job training.

All programs must involve collaboration between the mayor’s office and a nonprofit, including programs with additional city partners.
