The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR); Administration for Children & Families (ACF)
Discretionary Targeted Assistance Grant (TAG) Program

 

Description: Grants assist communities with refugee populations. The program assists refugee populations which have been unable to make the transition to self-sufficiency. Applications are encouraged from programs addressing needs of single moms, alternative lifestyle populations or those with special needs. ACF encourages applications from applicants who will use this funding to serve eligible populations in counties that did not qualify for TAG formula funding and do not have other alternative funding resources.

 

Funding Available: $4.76 million for 25 awards (no match required)

 

Eligibility: Those eligible to apply for this grant are:

1) The state government agency responsible for the refugee program, pursuant to 45 CFR §400.5,; 2) The state's replacement designee pursuant to 45 CFR §400.301.;  or 3)  A Wilson/Fish agency that oversees a state-wide program as an alternative to the state-administered program pursuant to section 412(e)(7) of the Immigration Nationality Act (INA) is also eligible to apply for this funding. States, their designees, or Wilson/Fish agencies shall submit a single application for the TAG program and must be able to prove their eligibility with appropriate documentation

(i.e. approval letter for the current State Plan).
