Eligibility: Public and private partnerships that include representatives from the public workforce investment system, education and training providers, such as community colleges, community-based and faith-based organizations and “bootcamp” style tech programs and business entities;

Funding Available: $25 million for 10 awards up to $4 million each

Description: The program supports partnerships that are focused on providing low- to middle-skilled parents with opportunities to advance in their careers in high-growth or in-demand H-1B industries, including IT (cyber security and broadband), healthcare, advanced manufacturing, financial services and educational services.

An overarching goal of SWFI is to assist in the removal of child care barriers faced by working families in need of training to secure better jobs. To support this, ETA is interested in funding projects that will simultaneously address both the individual job training needs and child care barriers.
