Enhanced Training And Services To End Abuse In Later Life Program

 

Deadline: February 11, 2016

 

Eligibility: State and local governments and nonprofits; Population specific organizations with demonstrated experience in assisting individuals over 50 years of age; Victim service providers with demonstrated experience in addressing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking

 

Funding Available: an estimated $3.2 million for up to nine awards (up to $400,000 each)

 

Description: The program funds comprehensive approaches to address elder abuse of those 50 years and older. Successful applicants must engage in activities outlined in each of the four mandatory purpose areas: training for criminal justice professionals, governmental agency staff and victim assistants; cross-training opportunities for professionals working with older victims; coordinated community response; and supportive services. Those helping older victims from underserved populations receive preference, particularly those focusing on minorities, tribes, the disabled and LGBT communities.
